Original & One-of-a-Kind

APEX FAMILIAR is a one-of-a-kind hand-painted blazer featuring an albino alligator draped dramatically over the right shoulder. The animal appears calm, yet its presence is striking; still, alert, and undeniably dominant. Contrasting the power of its subject matter, the painting style is soft and ethereal with an almost airbrushed texture. From afar the image reads with a sense of realism, but up close, it reveals a dreamlike quality created through layered acrylics. Sharp edges melt into luminous cool tones of blue, purple, and pink, giving the piece a surreal beauty. The alligator becomes a symbol of quiet authority. Its pale coloring and shimmering hues evoke ghostly mysticism, as if it exists outside of time in a realm where gods walk beside mortals. neither fully of this world, nor entirely apart from it.

The harness functions less like a leash and more like a symbol of it’s status. framing the creature’s power rather than limiting it. The harness represents loyalty, devotion and sacred responsibility. This isn’t a wild animal forced into submission, it’s a powerful ally choosing to protect its wearer.

Painted with high-quality, flexible acrylic paint blended with a textile medium, the design integrates seamlessly into the fabric of the blazer ensuring both durability and functionality. The blazer’s tailored yet oversized silhouette serves as a masculine form recoded with feminine power, creating a unisex piece meant to empower the wearer and spark conversation.

Each brushstroke is a spell: protection, potency, and presence.

APEX FAMILIAR reflects the core of my broader body of work: garments as storytelling surfaces, and the belief that identity is something both worn and performed. My work often explores contradiction—blending softness and danger, kink and innocence, sacred and profane. It asks us to question our assumptions and illuminate the gray areas in between. I’m fascinated by the idea that nothing exists in perfect opposition. Beauty can be grotesque, and power can be gentle. A predator can be a protector, and A harness can offer safety rather than restraint. Each piece invites curiosity and asks the viewer to release binary thinking in favor of complexity, nuance, and radical open-mindedness. Apex Familiar is not about taming the wild, but recognizing the divine in it.
