Cupid’s Misfire explores the soft ache of loving someone deeply without being in love with them. It captures the quiet intimacy that forms between two souls entangled in tenderness, history, and emotional truth—yet suspended just shy of romantic fate. Like Cupid’s arrow veering just left of center, the connection hovers in a space that feels almost magical, but never quite lands. This piece is a meditation on almosts: the closeness that heals, the affection that lingers, and the kind of love that arrives with open hands, not gripping ones. It honors the beauty of impermanence, and the gentle sorrow that even the purest bonds are not always meant to last.

Like the rest of my work, Cupid’s Misfire blurs binaries. tenderness and detachment, connection and distance, beauty and melancholy. It’s part of an ongoing exploration of emotional contradictions, where softness isn’t weakness and intimacy doesn’t require permanence. My pieces live in the gray areas of human experience, inviting the viewer to hold complexity with curiosity rather than judgment. Love, like identity, is never static. It shifts, shapeshifts, and sometimes misses. even then, it leaves a mark worth remembering.
